Hello list,

I've just published the Plone 4 User Manual:
http://plone.org/documentation/manual/plone-4-user-manual

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of Anne Botwell and her team
(including Jim Leek, Tjitske Kamphuis and Timothy Cranston) and Ariel
Calzada, we've managed to replace all old screenshots with new Sunburst
ones, as well as update the text to match the new behavior where needed.

I'd like to thank all the people who has contributed to make this
happen. Everyone will benefit a lot from your efforts, for sure!

Ariel Calzada is working to record videos for the manual to replace the
current Plone 2 (!) ones.

Any comments about erratas, broken screenshots, etc. are hugely appreciated.

Fantastic job, everyone! I'm thrilled to see us, once again, ship a major Plone release with a full set of docs. I know we threw a lot of new features and changes at you and you've handled it all quite efficiently.

Kudos!

Aloha,

This is great to see!
Some errata...
I'm just cruising through sanity checking the first parts of it and I'm
noticing that in some sections the bottom-of-page previous|next
navigation is pointing to PNG images from within a section, not the
previous or next section. Sections 1.2, 1.3, 1.5 and 1.6 for example.
I'm assuming this is not as intended...?

cheers,
John S.

Hello John,

well spotted! This is certainly not the intended behavior. Actually, I
reckon this is a bug introduced by me in the PHC code while trying to
fix the erroneus next/previous behavior.

In the previous version,
http://dev.plone.org/collective/browser/Products.PloneHelpCenter/trunk/Products/PloneHelpCenter/browser/nextprevious.py?rev=86434#L153

restricts the content-types eligible for the next/previous links, but
this filtering was eliminated in the current version. I would need some
time to fix the bug and write proper tests to ensure this doesn't happen
again. I'm too busy with university homework and all now, but if anyone
can help with this (apart from discussing ;) I'd greatly appreciate it.

Anyway, the current PHC code is way old and complex, and I'm thinking of
refactoring it if I find some time during this summer.

Thanks,
